  Q & A
Do you remember the first time you saw or heard of the Steadicam?
I was lighting technician in tv studio and I was interested how it works.

What was it about the Steadicam that made you want to pursue it as a career?
I just want to try it on... and it appeard that is very easy for me...

What were you doing prior to Steadicam?
Studing on UTech...

What were some of the biggest challenges you remember about becoming a Steadicam operator?
Problem was that there have been only 2 rigs in Poland back in the days... one of them was old mkII :) which was older then me :)

What are some of the biggest challenges now?
To keep working and becoming better and better...

Did you ever have a "big break' moment? A career event that clearly changed or paved the way for everything to follow?
First movie with PaweB Edelman, and next movie with PaweB Edelman :)

From whom do you take your inspiration? Has that changed over the course of your career?
First that was Andreas Glacer and later Ted Churchill. Nope, it never changed my course of carrier. I think flying steadicam is like driving car, everybody has his own style, do not copy someone, try figure it out on your own.

Is there a shot, film, or moment in your career that you can think of as your most proud?
nope. I never done shot which I like it, and hope I will never do.

Is there a shot or film you can recall as being your most challenging? Why?
Maybe "Kamienie na szaniec", it was my first work with Pawel Edelman and I was very stressed adout it.

What work of your peers do you admire?
I donot know... I seen a lot of good stuff and a lot of bed stuff. I love openning shot for "Broken City" but rest is very bad... I do not want to point someone and forget about someone else...

Many people will say they've tried on a Steadicam once, and immediately thought, "absolutely not." What do you think is different about those of us that say "absolutely"?
Steadicam is all about you. You do not need impress someone but you need to show youself that you can do it, but you can do it good as operator not as carrier. It's hard way, there is no shortcuts this is why so many people say no to the steadicam.
